Chris Galifi succeeds predecessor Joe Caruso as Chief Executive Officer of Giampaolo Group Inc. alongside a series of leadership changes within the organization.

Brampton, Ontario. Giampaolo Group Inc. (“GGI”) has announced that as of February 1st, 2022, Chris Galifi has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the group of companies. An experienced business leader, Chris has succeeded Joe Caruso.

Joe Caruso remains a prolific member of the Giampaolo Group Inc. leadership team as the Executive Vice Chairman. During his 30 year-long tenure, he has overseen the expansion of the organization- from a singular scrap yard to multi-national metal management firm with over 60 North American locations. Derrick Phelps, formerly Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Financial Officer, has moved into the role of President and Chief Financial Officer. Derrick is responsible for a diverse number of functions including finance, legal, and strategy. Derrick is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Business Valuator, and currently sits on two private equity Boards.

About Chris Galifi

Chris Galifi has been with GGI for over 10 years and has over a decade of management experience and leadership expertise. Prior to joining the Giampaolo Group, Chris’ management and operations experience came from various roles within the realm of engineering, automotive, and recycling & waste management. In 2009, Chris founded a waste and recycling service provider in Ontario, which was later sold to Miller Waste Systems.

He began his career with Giampaolo Group Inc. in 2011 at the electronics division – Quantum Lifecycle Partners LP. His role was in Corporate Development, and he was responsible for leading the organizations growth and business development by way of identifying, evaluating, and cultivating customer relationships, and through mergers and acquisitions. Subsequently, Chris moved to Venture Steel, the steel and aluminum service center division of the Giampaolo Group.

During his time at Venture Steel, Chris focused on financial, commercial, procurement, and continuous improvement before progressing into a role with GGI – Director of Continuous Improvement. At corporate level, Chris has held various positions, all in increasing responsibility, most recently Chief Operating Officer, ultimately leading him to his new position of Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, Chris will continue to focus on the commercial and operational aspects of each of our divisions including corporate procurement, risk, and supply chain, as well as take a larger strategic leadership role with respect to the future growth of the Giampaolo Group.
